 We ensure all our personnel have the right experience, education, training and skills to meet our performance criteria.  Product training and skills training takes place on a continuous basis, thereby cultivating a culture of learning, ensuring knowledgeable team members which results in skills transfers, therefore empowering individual members. 

Appraisals are crucial in identifying constraints affecting individuals’ performance and the gap between current competencies and those required for their jobs.  Performance appraisals therefore form a critical aspect in the training and development of individuals.

UPS Solutions focuses on creating an environment free of discrimination of race, gender or religion, which is widely communicated in the working environment.  Job evaluation and performance standards are applied equally amongst all staff members.  Also, the individual agrees upon all targets and projects before implementation.

Being an SMME, various skills are outsourced:

  • Representatives have been appointed in all major centres and Lesotho.  Their responsibility entails servicing existing clients, sourcing new business and identifying local economic needs.

  • As the need arises, we outsource various required skills, i.e. electrical, cable reticulation and commissioning processes to the previously disadvantaged communities.

  • We support the Black Economic Empowerment policy, and endeavour to developing entrepreneurship whenever possible. We are actively involved in this regard through our sister company Turnstone Projects.

  • New productivity objectives are being developed in co-operation with all levels of management as well as employee representation.

  • UPS Solutions is represented in all provinces for installation and maintenance of our products.

  • As a result of our outsourcing policy, job creating in the SMME and PDI market takes place.  At the same time we offer infrastructure support to these partners, in the form of administrations, technical assistance and training.
